You may have noticed I haven't blogged for a little while. On Saturday night, halfway through my blog post, my laptop died and because I'm an idiot who does not prepare for things, I had not gotten a plug adapter for my American three prong charger. I thought this would be cheaper and easier to find in China. I was wrong.
For transparency's sake, I will let you know that it is now Wednesday morning. I have been trying to write my blog in as real time as possible, so for a few blog posts I am going to cheat and pretend to be in the mindset I was in during those actual days. I hope you can forgive this fallacy and I will do my best to remember everything I wanted to write about. Also, because I had to upload so many photos at once, the photos are of significantly inferior quality.
While we are peaking behind the curtain, I wanted to mention that I have found out both my parents are reading my blog. This is something that horrifies me to no end, for reasons that will become very obvious with some of the graphic honesty that will be shared in upcoming posts. So for those who don't want to know too much about me, please, I beg of you, stop reading.
My mother wanted to let me know that the money belt I was wearing was meant to be worn around my waist, not under my armpit. I wish she had told me this before my trip.
I also wanted to mention that before my flight, my mother bought me some snacks at a local 7/11. She kept strongly encouraging me to buy one of these cookies that had "16 grams of protein" in it, but they also "taste terrible."
"Why would I want to get one?" I kept asking.
"Because they have 16 grams of protein," she would reply.
"Which one should I get?"
"It doesn't matter, they all taste terrible."
I ended up getting a snicker doodle. You were right, Mom. It was terrible.
My father wanted to let me know his favorite part of my blog so far was the orange juice vending machine. I liked that part too Dad.
Okay, back to the real blog. And again, I apologize for the inconvenience. After posting a lot for the next day or two, the blog should go back to normal.
